New Horizons Society

The University of New Mexico Foundation created the New Horizons Society (NHS) to recognize individuals and families whose estate plans benefit The University of New Mexico. Members include alumni, faculty, staff, parents, and community members. NHS members are usually honored at an annual lunch that celebrates the impact of estate gifts on University programs, students, and faculty. Although the 2020 luncheon was canceled due to the COVID-19 virus, we hope to continue this tradition—whether it is a virtual or in-person event.

If you name the UNM Foundation as the beneficiary of an estate gift of any size, we want to welcome you as an NHS member. Estate gifts include a provision in a will or trust, a beneficiary designation (on a bank account, retirement plan, or life insurance policy), or any charitable gift that provides lifetime income to the donor.

For more information or to let us know that you’ve included UNM in your estate plan, contact Bonnie McLeskey, Associate Vice President of Planned Giving, at Bonnie.McLeskey@unmfund.org or (505) 313-7610.

Sharing that you have included UNM in your estate plan will enable us to ensure your intentions are carried out as you wish, show our appreciation of your generosity by including you as a member of our New Horizons Society, and—equally important—use your example as an inspiration to others to include UNM in their future plans.
